Private Transfer to the South Valley of Cusco

While most visitors head north to the Sacred Valley, the South Valley of Cusco holds an equally rewarding — and far less crowded — circuit. Cusco Private Transfer takes you in a private, exclusive vehicle to Tipón, Pikillaqta, and Andahuaylillas, three sites that combine Inca engineering, pre-Inca history, and colonial art in a single half-day trip.

The circuit moves at your own pace, with a driver who knows the route and the story behind each stop.

INFORMATION

Private South Valley Itinerary

1. Pick-Up in Cusco

Your driver picks you up from your hotel door or a preferred location in the city, and the tour heads south along a quieter route than the Sacred Valley circuit.

2. Tipón — The Inca Irrigation Complex

The first stop is Tipón, an archaeological site known for its sophisticated system of agricultural terraces and water channels, considered one of the finest examples of Inca hydraulic engineering. The terraces are still fed by the original irrigation system.

3. Pikillaqta — The Pre-Inca City

From Tipón, the route continues to Pikillaqta, a large pre-Inca administrative and ceremonial complex built by the Wari culture. Its grid of stone-walled compounds gives a very different picture of Andean urban planning than the more familiar Inca sites.

4. Andahuaylillas — The "Sistine Chapel of America"

The final stop is the colonial town of Andahuaylillas, home to the Church of San Pedro Apóstol, widely known as the “Sistine Chapel of America” for its richly painted interior, gilded altarpieces, and murals dating back to the 17th century.

5. Return to Cusco

After visiting all three sites, your driver takes you back to your hotel or preferred location in Cusco, closing out a tour that runs roughly 6 hours from start to finish.

WHY BOOK THIS TRANSFER

Why Book This Private Transfer

Most travelers fly into Cusco and go directly to the Sacred Valley to begin acclimatizing at a lower altitude before continuing to Machu Picchu. Doing that leg in a shared shuttle or a street taxi means waiting for other passengers, unclear pricing, and drivers unfamiliar with mountain roads. A private transfer solves all three:

  • No waiting on other travelers — the vehicle leaves when you’re ready, not when it fills up.
  • One flat rate per vehicle, not per person, agreed before you travel.
  • Flight monitoring, so delays or early landings don’t leave you stranded.
  • Direct route knowledge of the Sacred Valley’s towns, train stations, and hotel access points.
  • Assistance with luggage and any questions along the way.
