INFORMATION

Private Cusco City Tour Itinerary

1. Pick-Up and Cusco Cathedral

The tour begins with pick-up right at your hotel door or a central location of your choice. Your first stop is Cusco Cathedral, on the Plaza de Armas, where colonial art and architecture reflect the city’s layered history.

2. Cathedral → Qoricancha

A short five-minute drive takes you to Qoricancha, once the most important religious and ceremonial site of the Inca Empire. Inca stonework blends with colonial construction here, and the site includes a museum with pieces from the Tahuantinsuyo era.

3. Qoricancha → Sacsayhuamán

From Qoricancha it’s a brief ride up to Sacsayhuamán, the monumental fortress known for its massive, precisely fitted stone walls. From the site you get panoramic views over Cusco and a close look at Inca engineering.

4. Sacsayhuamán → Qenqo

Just five minutes further is Qenqo, an archaeological site believed to have served as a ceremonial center where the Incas carried out rituals and offerings.

5. Qenqo → Puca Pucara

About ten minutes on, you reach Puca Pucara, a small Inca fortress whose name — “red fortress” — comes from the reddish tone its stones take on at sunset.

6. Puca Pucara → Tambomachay

The final stop is Tambomachay, known as the “Baths of the Inca,” notable for hydraulic channels that still function today and reflect the advanced engineering of the Inca civilization.

7. Return to Cusco

After Tambomachay, the tour heads back to the city, closing out roughly five hours after pick-up. Your driver drops you off at your hotel or another central point, as you prefer.

Why Book This Private Transfer?

Most travelers fly into Cusco and go directly to the Sacred Valley to begin acclimatizing at a lower altitude before continuing to Machu Picchu. Doing that leg in a shared shuttle or a street taxi means waiting for other passengers, unclear pricing, and drivers unfamiliar with mountain roads. A private transfer solves all three:

  • No waiting on other travelers — the vehicle leaves when you’re ready, not when it fills up.
  • One flat rate per vehicle, not per person, agreed before you travel.
  • Flight monitoring, so delays or early landings don’t leave you stranded.
  • Direct route knowledge of the Sacred Valley’s towns, train stations, and hotel access points.
  • Assistance with luggage and any questions along the way.
